The story of Kabete Junior Academy (KJA) began in 1983, when a vision for a school rooted in community, inclusivity and a genuine love for children first took shape. What began as a small preschool, created within a family home and thoughtfully renovated into classrooms, has grown over more than four decades into the Kabete Junior Academy we know and love today.

From the very beginning, the founding principle was to create an inclusive and nurturing school; a place where children from all backgrounds and cultures could learn, grow and thrive together. This belief continues to sit at the heart of KJA today.

Kabete Junior Academy officially opened its doors in 1986 with just nine students. More than 40 years later, that small beginning has developed into a well-established school with a proud and enduring heritage. While much has changed and evolved over the years, our commitment to providing children with a happy, stimulating and high-quality education has remained constant.

One of the greatest measures of our success is the remarkable community we have built over the years. Today, we are incredibly proud to welcome second-generation KJA families; children whose parents once walked through our gates as pupils and have now chosen to bring their own children to experience the same special school community.  Our 40+ year heritage is something we are immensely proud of.

Kabete Junior Academy continues to grow and evolve while remaining firmly grounded in the values upon which it was founded. With dedicated leadership, passionate teachers, modern resources and a commitment to exceptional teaching and learning, we continue to look towards the future while celebrating the rich heritage that brought us here.
